Requesting Appointments During the Academy Day

In line with the Academy Attendance & Punctuality Policy, parents and carers are strongly encouraged to arrange medical, dental or other appointments outside of the Academy day wherever possible.

Where this is not possible, the following must be noted:

• Parents/carers must inform the Academy in advance of the appointment.

• Evidence of the appointment (e.g. appointment card or letter) must be provided.

• Students must attend the Academy for as much of the day as possible and return to the Academy promptly following the appointment.

• Preferably students in Years 7 – 11 will be signed out and signed back in at Reception by a parent/carer. 

Appointments will only be authorised where appropriate evidence is provided. Failure to follow the correct procedures may result in the absence being recorded as unauthorised.
