Ashcroft Technology Academy

Our Track Record of IB Success

The breadth of the International Baccalaureate curriculum combined with excellent results places our students in the best possible position to follow their desired path on completion of the Diploma.

Below are some of success stories:

Emily Yelverton

Studied:

"The IB is an immensely rewarding programme. I really enjoyed the breadth of subjects it offered me and the opportunities it gave me for exploring my own interests in depth through the extended essay and other activities. I am passionate about English literature and the teachers really encouraged me to push myself further, entering my work in an essay competition run by Trinity College certainly helped me to secure my place at Cambridge. The whole experience of the Ashcroft IB has provided me with a very firm foundation for undergraduate study at the highest level."

Ella Wheeley

Studied:

"The IB provided me with the opportunity to develop initiative, teamwork, and leadership through the CAS programme. By taking advantage of opportunities to shadow medical professionals and volunteer my time I became certain that I wanted to become a doctor and the experience really helped with my medical  school application. By carrying out my Extended Essay in Biology I undertook high level research and experiments and produced an academic paper that really impressed at interview. I really couldn't have asked for a better preparation for my career in medicine."

Pablo Demiguel joined from a school in Valencia

Studied:

"Choosing to do the IB in Ashcroft has undoubtedly been the best decision in my academic life. The IB is a challenging program, but thanks to the amazing teachers that I had, my time at Ashcroft was a fun and thrilling experience. Whenever I nepabloeded a helping hand, they were all willing to give up their lunches, or time after school, to help me out. I have not seen this level of dedication in any other school that I have been to, and I am sure that I could not have succeeded as much as I have without them. For this reason, I think that taking the IB in Ashcroft is the best decision you can take."

Rebecca Davies joined from Ricards Lodge School

Studied:

"I hadn't even heard of the IB Diploma until I went to the Ashcroft Technology Academy open evening as a prospective external student and I was immediately intrigued by this alternative qualification. Even now, I'm not sure if it was the brilliant variety in academic subjects, the rebeccaoverwhelming temptation to embark on the unfamiliar challenge of Theory of Knowledge or the mighty 4000-word Extended Essay, that first ignited my interest and drove me to embark on the most exciting two years of my life".

Arjona Hoxha

Studied:

"The IB at Ashcroft really suited me. I love French, history and English, but I didn’t want to confine myself to just three subjects. The breadth of the Diploma meant I could carry on with maths and sciences too, which I felt was very important. The core elements of the course were unfamiliar at first, but they are actually very beneficial. Theory of Knowledge builds your critical thinking and the Extended Essay really develops your research skills. No other qualification gives you so much breadth and depth."

Studied:

"Now that I have completed the IB I have absolutely no regrets about choosing it. It is undoubtedly an academic challenge, but with the amount of support that was available from the teachers, including after school study sessions to weekend revision classes, Sixth Form became much more manageable. My time at Ashcroft has been nothing short of amazing. The small class sizes opens up the courses for personalization and allows you to build a personal rapport with your teachers. For these reasons I would highly encourage you to take the IB at Ashcroft, even if you are a little hesitant like I was."

"The programme was immensely stimulating and rewarding beyond words. I loved the wholehearted culture of learning here, and my time at Ashcroft was one of continuous growth, support and academic fulfilment. I’ve never known the level of dedication in any other school I’ve visited and I owe my success to the fabulous teachers who were always willing to spend time with me at lunch or after school to help me out whenever I needed a hand. For this reason, I think that studying the International Baccalaureate at Ashcroft is the best decision you can take!"

Bianca Costa Sales joined from a school in Brazil

Studied:

"I had a great time studying the IB at Ashcroft. There was so much support from my teachers and fellow classmates and the two years truly made me learn and grow far beyond the syllabus and the IB learner profile. I honestly thought I wouldn't enjoy CAS and the EE as much as the rest of the course, but in the end this was far from the case.bianca Both proved to be the things that not only brought my form group together, but also pushed me to my limits, giving me skills and experiences which I'm sure I'll be thankful for the rest of my life."
