School Meals
The Academy operates its own highly successful in-house meals service, providing balanced and nutritious meals throughout the day in its restaurant, fully meeting government guidelines. The Academy has been recognised with a Bronze award for Healthy Schools Wandsworth programme, reflecting the Academy’s commitment to offering healthy, high-quality meals. A large number of students make use of this provision, underpinned by the Academy’s strong belief that good nutrition plays an important role in supporting student learning.

The value-for-money service operates twice daily during term time, beginning with breakfast from 7:45 a.m. through to the start of the Academy day. The Academy also runs a Breakfast Club for some students who benefit from a free breakfast while also taking part in learning activities. Lunch runs from 12:55 to 14:00 and is organised on a rota basis for Years 7 to 10, so that across a three-week menu cycle each year group has the opportunity to go first or last. Year 11 students always join the first sitting.
The service operates on a cashless basis, so that students do not need to carry money with them each day. Each student is provided with an ID card that acts as both a ‘meal card’ and their library card for borrowing resources. The cards are colour-coded by year group and include the student’s name, photo, and a unique ID. Accounts are managed electronically, with balances updated automatically each time a student purchases food or tops up their account.
Parents and guardians can add funds securely via the Academy’s online payment system, WisePay. Details for registration are sent out when a child first joins the Academy. Students entitled to free school meals have the same style of card as all other students, with their daily allowance automatically credited £3.00 each day. They are also encouraged to top up their card with additional funds if they wish.
