Open Evening for Prospective Sixth Form Students on 08 October.

Sixth Form Open Evening at Ashcroft Technology Academy

Thursday 8th October 2015

6.20pm – 8.00pm

It gives me great pleasure to invite you to our Sixth Form Open Evening. Our aim in the sixth form is to help students achieve their highest standards in a technology-rich environment. We are proud of the achievements of our students. For the fourth year running our results are outstanding. We are also proud of our outstanding Ofsted report in February 2015.

For the past 3 years Ashcroft Sixth Form has won the Wandsworth Pupil Achievement Award which publicly recognises the successes of the Sixth Form. Students taking all programmes of study in the Sixth Form performed substantially above local and national statistics. I am particularly pleased with our sustained success.

A level: 100% pass rate and typically over 80% A*-C and 60% A*-B.

IB: 100% pass rate with students consistently achieving over 37 IB points

BTEC in Music and Performing Arts: Students achieve Distinction*

More importantly students make outstanding progress.

Within this context I would like to particularly congratulate the following students for their outstanding results:

Tyra Enchill scoring 41 IB points now reading chemistry at Bath

Zakaria Moustiri achieving A*A*A*A* now reading engineering at Cambridge

Olumuyiwa Aiyenuro achieving A*A*AA also reading engineering at Cambridge

Matthew Robinson achieving A*A*A* now reading maths at Imperial

Temur Pasha achieving A*AAAB now reading medicine at Imperial

Shanaya Latouche achieving 2 Distinction* in Performing Arts and AB in A level now studying psychology at Sheffield

Olivia Taylor achieving 3 Distinction* in Music and BB in A level now studying criminology at Manchester.

Over 90% of our upper sixth students progress to university including Oxbridge with 43% securing places at Russell Group universities. Our progression rate to top London Art Colleges is also outstanding. Resources at the Academy are excellent and recently enhanced by a new Performance, Music and Media facility, 10 new science laboratories and a purpose built Sixth Form Centre.

At the Open Evening you will have the opportunity to discuss sixth form subjects with teachers and students. We have an extensive curriculum encompassing the International Baccalaureate, BTEC, as well as the more traditional A levels. Douglas Mitchell, Academy Principal, myself and the Head Student Team will give a short presentation at 6.20pm covering key aspects of sixth form education at the Academy. The Open Evening has been advertised in the local press and other schools and colleges and I am expecting considerable interest in the evening. There is on-road parking in the vicinity of the Academy. The nearest tube station is East Putney on the District Line.

With outstanding results and unrivalled resources, Ashcroft Sixth Form provides excellent opportunities for motivated and qualified students to excel.

I look forward to meeting you and to a very productive evening.

Yours sincerely

M E Roberts
