Remote Access
Access your computer files from home:
As from October 2010, the preferred method for accessing files from home is through Remote Desktop or Microsoft terminal services Client (MSTSC).
This method works for all versions of MS Windows starting from Windows XP SP2. There is also client software to enable Apple Mac clients to connect to and work remotely.
This method presents the student with a desktop very similar to what they are used to when in the Academy. It also eliminates the need for the student to have a licensed copy of the application used in the Academy on their local PC.
Please use the instructions below depending on the type of computer you have at home.
NB: Please type 82.198.225.114 into the Computer: field (i.e. where you would normally type RDMAC.ashcroftacademy.org.uk) in the old instructions. This should bring you to the familiar logon screen from where you can carry on as normal.
