Academic Tracking Day for parents will be held on Thursday 26 January from 9am to 6.10.
On this date parents and their son or daughter will be invited to meet with their form tutor to discuss educational progress and agree targets for the next two terms. Each meeting with the form tutor will last 15 minutes and will take place at a pre-arranged time during the day. Year 7 students will be expected to attend the Academy as normal and follow their timetable for Thursday. However, they will be released from lessons for their Academic Tracking meeting.
Form tutors will be responsible for arranging the appointments. In order to help with this process, we would ask you to identify a session which would be most convenient for you to attend the Academy. We would expect the early and late sessions to be very popular, in which case we will not be able to accommodate every first preference. We would therefore ask you to identify a second and a third preference.
The sessions will be divided into time blocks as follows:
|Session 1||9am to 11.30am|
|Session 2||12 noon to 1.00pm|
|Session 3||2.00pm to 4.30pm|
|Session 4||4.45pm to 6.00pm|
The form tutor will arrange a programme of appointments that will fit with as many parents’ preferences as possible, and will let you know the time of your appointment via a confirmation slip. At this stage appointments will be fixed. Nevertheless, in exceptional circumstances further adjustments may be made in consultation with the form tutor.
The appointment with the form tutor will last for 15 minutes and during your visit you will be asked to complete a brief survey relating to the quality of education provided by the Academy for your son or daughter. You should therefore plan to be on the Academy site for 30 minutes.
If your son or daughter has a Statement of Special Educational Needs (SEN), or you would like to discuss your son or daughter’s SEN, please also tick the SEN box on your reply slip to say you would like to see the SENCO, Ms Zahid, or an SEN teacher. An additional SEN appointment time for you will then be arranged.
There will be no car parking spaces available on the Academy site. I suggest you use the metered parking in streets adjacent to the Academy or public transport if possible. There will be the usual disabled parking provision in the visitors’ car park.
