Ashcroft Sixth Form: A university challenge.
Ashcroft Technology Academy is a very special place to work and learn as a teacher and a student. The Academy had a second outstanding Ofsted inspection judgment in February 2015.
There is so much going on in the Sixth Form of which I am particularly proud.
Student aspirations are so high that nearly every student applies to university. A university education is a privilege but one that is becoming more expensive as grants turn into loans. 50% of students secure places at top Russell Group universities to study a range of courses and this year we have a high number of students who have had offers from Oxford or Cambridge university. If you take a quick glance to our “Student of the Week” section for current students, you will see who these people are.
If you visit the Sixth Form and speak to our students only then will you understand why aspirations and expectations are so high. Prospective Sixth Form students who visit us comment on the maturity, resilience, confidence, diligence and the gregarious nature of our students. But behind student success stories are dedicated teachers, tutors and a Sixth Form Management / UCAS team whose support for our students is never ending.
Ashcroft students thrive at university and are a good match to any university challenge.
