Reprographics Assistant (temporary post)

  • Part time, 20 hours per week (term time only)

Ashcroft Technology Academy (ATA) is seeking to appoint a Reprographics Assistant with a flexible and organised approach to assist the Reprographics Officer in handling a variety of curriculum and media requests within a highly respected and superbly resourced department. This post is initially up until the end of December with the possibility of continuing beyond this time.

The successful candidate will be a proven multi-tasker with enthusiasm, energy and drive together with some experience of working with multi-functional networked copiers in a busy reprographics environment. They must be capable of dealing will all aspects of finishing such as comb binding and laminating for the production of teaching, marketing and display materials. An interest in photography/video would also be desirable. He/she will be responsible for the ordering of stationery consumables for the whole Academy and keeping rechargeable accurate termly purchase and copier usage accounts for each department.

Admissions and Welfare Officer

  • Actual starting salary: £27,200

Ashcroft Technology Academy (ATA) is seeking to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual, with first aid training and experience and a strong administrative background, to join our Academy’s administration team as Admissions and Welfare Officer.  

The successful candidate will have drive and experience of working in a busy office environment, combined with meticulous organisation, excellent interpersonal skills, and very strong written and verbal communication.  

The role will be varied in nature and responsibilities will include: oversight of the first aid and medical provision for all students in the Academy, oversight of medical plans and monitoring long-term medical conditions, interventions with students relating to emotional, physical or welfare issues, preparation of open days and events, maintaining accurate database records and running reports on admissions’ statistics and accident logs. The role will also entail handling a wide range of external telephone and face-to-face enquiries and issues, presenting at admissions appeal hearings and administering admission procedures and testing. The successful applicant will have experience of working with young people, ideally in a school environment, and will feel confident in dealing with students and families who may be in difficult circumstances. The successful applicant will also be expected to work closely with the Leadership Group.

Teaching & Learning Assistants (TLAs)

  • Starting salary £15,640 - £20,641 (based on experience)

Ashcroft Technology Academy (ATA) is looking to appoint TLAs to support teaching provision for students with Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC) or other Special Educational Needs.

The post holders will provide flexible support to students with Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). Successful applicants will support a range of students in and out of the classroom, ensuring that all learners have full access to the National Curriculum.

Applicants will be expected to have good literacy/numeracy skills and the ability to work as part of a team in a dynamic environment. They should possess excellent personal organisation and ICT skills and have the ability to liaise confidently with staff, parents/carers and external agencies in a commitment to raise student achievement. An ability to identify barriers to student learning and to develop ways of overcoming these is essential. The successful applicants will be confident in working with young people in a school environment and with students who may be in difficult circumstances.

All posts are 36½ hrs per week for just over 39 weeks per year, although part time working will also be considered. Some flexibility in working hours will be required including supporting a few evening meetings during the academic year.

The Academy is judged to be an Outstanding school (Ofsted 2015); is heavily oversubscribed for places; achieves excellent examination results and maintains exceptionally high standards of student behaviour.

Part-time Cleaners

Morning (6.00-8.30am) or Evenings 5.00-7.00pm)
£7.50 per hour (rising to £7.75 after 1 year)

Ashcroft Technology Academy is seeking to recruit quality cleaning staff to maintain the high standards in place at the Academy. Applicants should be self-motivated, flexible and take pride in their work.

As well as an excellent rate of pay, all cleaning staff are employed across the entire year and are entitled to 22 days leave per annum. Term-time only applications will be considered as will extended hours in the evening if required. An annual bonus scheme also operates.
