As at September 2007, ADT City Technology College became Ashcroft Technology Academy, continuing the work of this highly successful publicly funded independent school sponsored by business.
Ashcroft Technology Academy is a highly successful City Technology College in south-west London that opened in September 1991. One of 15 CTC's to be sited in inner city and urban areas, Ashcroft Technology Academy is a school built on a partnership between industry, commerce and education to provide high quality and well resourced facilities for the education of young people aged between 11 and 19. The Academy has 1,050 students on roll. In September 2007, the Academy moved move into its next exciting phase of development to become one of the government' new Academy schools.
Ashcroft Technology Academy is extremely popular and is very heavily over-subscribed for places. It also has an excellent track record of public examination results with 73% of Year 11 students achieving 5 or more A*-C passes at GCSE in 2006. The Academy holds both the Investor in People and the prestigious Charter Mark awards; and therefore offers excellent career development.
