Our Programme
The Community Programme at Ashcroft Technology Academy serves to provide access to our specialist facilities, equipment and staff expertise through a range of projects and initiatives.
The programme includes:
- Access to specialist facilities and support for primary and special schools.
- Access to specialist equipment.
- Club activities for primary students.
- Science, Engineering and Technology(SET) Week Primary Challenge.
- Activities to promote Numeracy eg Primary Maths Challenge.
- ICT Technical Support.
- ICT Training for Parents and Carers.
- ICT Training for Senior Citizen community.
- Family Learning Programme for parents and children
Access for local schools to specialist facilities and support includes:
- ICT training for Primary staff and special schools.
- ICT lessons for classes of Primary pupils and special schools.
ICT Training for parents and carers
Run on Saturday mornings or week nights during term time and taught by our ICT staff and specialist trainers, these courses serve to introduce parents and carers of our students to both basic ICT skills including use of the internet and a range of software packages as well as Intermediate courses leading to Microsoft qualification using our state of the art 'industry standard' IT network, hardware and software.
