Key Stage 4 (Years 9, 10 & 11)
Students in Years 9, 10 and 11 follow courses which lead to GCSE. It is our policy that all students should take Maths, English, double-certificate Science as well as Design & Technology to GCSE plus their optional subjects.
At Ashcroft Technology Academy KS4 students spend a minimum of 28.5 hours in taught lessons each week. In addition, all students opt for one of six BTEC First Certificate courses.
By studying a vocational qualification students gain a valuable insight into the world of work and a head-start on their later post-16 qualifications. Each BTEC is equivalent to two additional GCSE qualifications.
